Chroma keying is a visual effect and post-production technique for combining (layering) two pictures or video streams based on colour hues (chroma range). The news broadcasting, movie, and video game industries have all utilised the technique to eliminate the background from the focus of a photo or video. In order to introduce separately captured background footage or a static image into the scene, a colour range in the foreground footage is made translucent. The chroma keying method is frequently employed in the creation and editing of videos. Backgrounds of any colour that are uniform and distinct can be used for chroma keying, however green and blue backgrounds are more frequently used because they differ most noticeably in hue from any shade of human flesh.
